OceanGate Suspends Operations After Titanic Sub Implosion

Nearly two weeks after the submersible used for touring the Titanic wreck exploded, killing all five passengers on board ocean gate, the company Behind These Voyages has suspended all its operations.

This comes as U.S. and Canadian authorities are still investigating the incident. This includes the analysis of the presumed human remains that were recovered during the search operations.

The website of the US-based firm reads, and I am quoting here, that it has suspended all exploration and Commercial operations.

It did not mention any reason behind the move. The company had planned two expeditions to the Titanic’s wreck for the next year, but now it is uncertain that these expeditions will take place on time as the probe into the incident has yet to conclude.

Our next report brings you more on the story. I think the submersible that exploded last month, killing five people, has suspended all exploration and commercial operations.

Ocean Gate, an Austria-based company, did not elaborate on matters. Beyond a red banner at the top of its website, the company lost contact with this Titan submarine on June 18th during a dive to the wreck of the Titan, prompting a massive undersea search for the vessel.

The U.S. Coast Guard last week recovered presumed human remains and debris from the sub on the ocean floor.

Examination of the debris is expected to shed more light on the cause of the implosion.

We and Canadian authorities are investigating the cause of the disaster, which raised questions about the unregulated nature of such expeditions. Thank you.
