The Dutch government has decided to disallow the use of mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches. The move comes into effect on January 1st next year.

The band seeks to give students a chance to concentrate on their studies with zero distractions.The nation’s education ministry has pointed out that some exceptions can be made to the rule.

Scientific research shows that now, as per the ministry, schools will be allowed to implement initial bans at their convenience; however, the legal rules would apply if the plans are not put into action by the summer of 2024.

The Netherlands is not the first country to implement a ban on cell phones in schools.Finland announced a similar ban last week.
